The NASA Ames Fire Department, in association with the Industrial Emergency Council (IEC) will be hosting five annual Airport Fire Fighter – FAA Part 139 Refresher 8-hour Training Classes at Moffett Federal Airfield (located adjacent to Mountain View, CA).
Classes will be held on 9/25/2017, 9/26/2017, 9/27/2017, 9/28/2017, and 9/29/2017. Training hours for each session will be 8AM – 5PM.
The training will be conducted by IEC using a propane fueled aircraft trainer, formerly owned and operated by Kellogg Community College of Battle Creek, MI.
The cost for the training is $350 per student and students can sign up on the Industrial Emergency Council website (link below) or by calling (650) 508-9008.
Due to NASA restrictions for entry onto the airfield only citizens of the United States are eligible to attend this training. Additionally, due to government restrictions on the operation of government vehicles, students not associated with NASA Ames will be unable to drive any ARFF apparatus. However, students will be able to ride in the ARFF vehicles, operate turrets, deploy handlines, etc.
Intended Audience: Airport fire fighters requiring FAA part 139 annual training.
Prerequisites: Fire Fighter II
Equipment Students Should Bring: Fire Fighters protective clothing, self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), spare SCBA bottle.
