Mike D. Hendershot joined the Casper/Natrona County International Airport Public Safety Department in 1985. He started his career with the Airport as a firefighter/law enforcement officer. He currently holds the position of Chief of Public Safety a position he has held for the last 9 years. He has served as training officer, fire inspector/investigator, Hazardous Materials Technician, Captain and Director of the Wyoming State ARFF Training Facility and continues to instruct classes for the facility. He is the Airport Security Coordinator for the Airport.
Mike has conducted trainings for the department, Natrona County Sheriff’s Office, Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy, Casper Collage and fire departments in Natrona County.
He is part of the Natrona County Exercise Design Team and has been involved in designing exercises for the last 12 years including 4 tri-annual drills for the Airport.
Mike has an Associates degree in Fire Science from Casper College and a Certificate of Completion in Fire Administration from University of Maryland College Park. He is a member of the ARFF Working Group, NFPA and the ICC.
