Two people died in a small-plane crash Thursday afternoon in Rockwall.

Police and firefighters were called about 1 p.m. to State Highway 66, near Ralph M. Hall Municipal Airport, where a single-engine Cessna 182 had crashed in a field just north of the road.

Two people were found dead in the wreckage, police said. Their identities have not been released.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the plane crashed after it hit a power line.

The FAA is investigating.
