In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a plane struck a motorcyclist on the airstrip of the Luano international airport in Lubumbashi (Haut-Katanga).

According to the Department of Transport, the incident occurred at 7.15 p.m. local time. A plane of the airline “Congo Airways” struck during its landing, a motorcyclist who was crossing the runway of the international airport of Luano in Lubumbashi. Significant material damage was recorded but no human loss is to be deplored.

In order to shed light on this unfortunate event, a special team was set up at the Ministry of Transport to determine the administrative and security faults at the base in order to establish responsibilities.
