A small plane missed its landing, around 00:20, Tuesday, at the Trois-Rivières airport.

The aircraft violently hit the ground before leaving the runway. The pilot and his student managed to extricate himself from the Piper who caught fire. The firefighters of Trois-Rivières quickly intervened. The plane was nothing more than a pile of junk.

The two wounded were taken to the hospital. One of them suffered minor injuries while the other suffered from fractures. A security perimeter was erected around the scene of the accident.

It is the Transportation Safety Board that is conducting the investigation. Two investigators have been on site all day. The airport was closed while the aircraft was towed.
