ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – City aviation officials say a Dallas-bound flight was diverted to the Sunport Sunday evening due to smoke in the cabin that was possibly the result of an electrical fire.

Officials say the plane, which took off from Phoenix, landed at the Sunport sometime after 8 p.m. Several emergency vehicles could be seen on the tarmac surrounding the plane before leaving the scene around 9:40 p.m.

The flight’s passengers, of which there was an unspecified amount at this time, de-planed onto the tarmac and taken via city bus back to the Sunport. Officials say another Southwest flight was being prepared Sunday night to take them to their destination.

There’s no word on if the incident resulted in any injuries.
