People who have seen the emergency services in action in the Penhale area around Newquay need not worry.

Emergency services are conducting an aircraft crash exercise between Monday and Friday.

South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, Devon & Cornwall Police, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service, Newquay RNLI Lifeboats, St Agnes, Falmouth and Newquay Coastguard Search & Rescue Teams, St Austell Coastguard, Royal Navy & Royal Air Force and RNAS Culdrose are among the emergency services taking part.

A Newquay Coastguard spokesman said: “Between April 17 and 21, we are conducting an aircraft crash exercise with our partners and the emergency services in the area around Penhale, Newquay.

“We are required to carry out this training to prepare for the unlikely event of a real-life emergency.

“We’d like to thank the public for their patience during this time.”
