WURTSBORO – A plane crash in Wurtsboro Friday night has claimed one life.
A plane went down in a wooded area off McDonald Road, not far from Wurtsboro Airport.
The single-engine aircraft crashed into a wooded area a few thousand feet from the runway of the Wurtsboro Airport at around 7:15.
Two people were on board; one person died at the scene.
It was believed to be a training flight.
State Police responded as well as a medical helicopter. It took several minutes for rescue crews to find the plane. The FAA was sending a crew to investigate why the crash occurred.
