A fire at the Chino Airport destroyed one hangar early Saturday morning, Sept. 10.

Firefighters were called to the airport just before 2 a.m., where the hangar was already fully engulfed, according to Chino Valley Fire District spokesperson Massiel De Guevara. The blaze was extinguished several hours later and crews were still on scene in the afternoon.

No injuries were reported and crews managed to keep the blaze from spreading to other structures.

Inside the hangar was a small aircraft and fiberglass parts, fueling the spread of the blaze, De Guevara said.

The cause of the fire was still under investigation, and crews were to remain on scene for several more hours on Saturday, mopping up the wreckage.
