When asked-do we really mean it? Do we really care?
Here’s a PERFECT 30 second response:
Actually, we do mean it in most cases and quite frankly, these days, my answers are: “Generally, I’m OK and and if it weren’t for _____ and _______ and ______ I’d be do’n a whole LOT better!”
Dammit.
Well, these days ARE different than most and there is no sign of things changing anytime soon-which of course directly impacts – and will continue to impact – us as Firefighters & EMS providers. No matter what “side” of the fence you reside, as North American Firefighters, we have our hands full either directly on the job with covid, social action/community issues, budget threats/challenges, fatigue, distancing, staffing – or off the job at home – it’s a mind bending time. And wellness is a big deal.
