St. Louis Firefighter Benjamin Polson

It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that we announce the Line of Duty Death of St. Louis Firefighter Benjamin Polson. Firefighter Polson tragically died Thursday, January 13, 2022 courageously fighting a house fire and searching for persons trapped.

Ben attended Vianney, was a Missouri State alumni, graduated with an MBA from Drury and earned a Law Degree from UMKC. He was a hockey player, philosopher, dancer and fisherman.

Firefighter Polson joined the St. Louis Fire Department November 10, 2019. Most recently he was assigned to Engine House 13, located at Ridge & Shawmut Place in the heart of the Hamilton Heights Neighborhood. He was also a member of the International Association of Firefighters Local 73.

Beloved son of Retired Fire Captain James Polson (Michelle) and Susan Polson: best friend and brother to Rebecca Slay and brother-in-law, Kevin Slay; loving grandson to Patricia Polson. He was a treasured nephew, step-brother, and true friend to a great many.
