Plane carrying 17 people was forced to land due to a cracked windscreen
An Air Creebec plane with 17 people on board was forced to make an emergency landing at the Val-d’Or airport this morning, according to the Sûreté du Québec.
The airport received an emergency call at approximately 11:15 am Wednesday morning, according to Louise Beaulieu, general manager of the Val-d’Or airport, about 530 kilometres north of Montreal.
According to Beaulieu, the plane was forced to land because of a cracked windscreen.
“It landed at 11:45 and everything went very well,” said Beaulieu.
An emergency procedures protocol was triggered and the fire department, paramedics, the Sûreté du Québec and airport management were mobilized.
The plane had left Val-d’Or earlier Wednesday on its way to the Cree community of Waskaganish.
