PALESTINE, Texas (KLTV) – Both occupants of a small, private plane walked away unharmed after the aircraft skidded off a runway at the Palestine Municipal Airport Monday morning.
Staff Sgt. Sarah Warren with the Texas Department of Public Safety said a single-engine, two-seat biplane skidded off a runway at the Palestine airport,but neither of is occupants were injured.
“Just after 11 a.m. Monday, June 28, 2021, the Palestine Police Department and the Palestine Fire Department were dispatched to the Palestine Municipal Airport in reference to a small plane that had gone off the runway.,” a press release from the Palestine Police Department stated.
Dan Addkison, an employee at the Palestine Municipal Airport, said the airplane’s landing gear failed, but the pilot managed to land it safely.
“The investigation has been turned over to the Texas Department of Public Safety,” the press release stated.
