OCEAN CITY – One person was injured after a helicopter crashed in a marshy area near the Ocean City Municipal area this morning, according to reports.

The crash occurred just after 9:30 a.m. near 28th Street, reported CBS 3.

A student pilot and an instructor were on board, and one of them was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, reports said.

The helicopter is a 1993 Robinson R22 Beta registered to Harvey A. Shuhart Jr. out of Doylestown, Pa., according to a federal database.

News chopper footage of the crash shows the helicopter lying on its side with its top rotor sheared off.
