A small single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza crash-landed Tuesday in a field near a major roadway in Scottsmoor, injuring the pilot, federal investigators and Brevard County Fire Rescue crews reported.
The incident happened about 10:30 a.m. near Deering Parkway and U.S. 1.
The FAA was alerted and an investigation into the cause of the incident will get underway, officials said. The pilot had reported engine problems before the aircraft went down, the FAA reported.
Brevard County Fire Rescue crews arrived at the crash site and removed the unnamed pilot, who was airlifted to a nearby trauma center. No fires or other hazards were reported at the scene of the crash.
The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the incident.
