WOODSTOCK, Conn. (WJAR) — One person was taken to the hospital following a helicopter crash in Putnam, Connecticut, Saturday afternoon.

The Federal Aviation Administration said an Enstrom 480 helicopter crashed at Toutant Airport at about 3 p.m.

Bungay Fire Brigade Station 77 Capt. David Elliot said three people were on board and it took crews about 50 minutes to extricate a man.

Connecticut State Police said he was taken to an area hospital for his injuries.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board were at the scene to investigate the cause of the crash.
