TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — A man is in the hospital after an incident with his small plane at the Mid-America Industrial Airport north of Chouteau Wednesday morning.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the 73-year-old Carl Eslinger was life-flighted to a Tulsa hospital but described his injuries as minor.

Troopers say the man lost control of the plane after landing, and it flipped over. He was pinned for about 30 minutes before Pryor firefighters cut him free.

The cause of the incident is not currently known, but OHP says it’s unlikely that it was a mechanical issue.

The National Transportation Safety Board is now handling the investigation.
