HEATH – A pilot suffered minor injuries Saturday morning when his small plane crashed into a field.

According to Ohio Highway Patrol Sgt. Travis Woodyard, the plane piloted by Christopher Anderson, 56, of Newark, crashed in the area of the 900 block of Thornwood Drive about 9:30 a.m. just after takeoff from the Newark-Heath Airport.

Anderson was treated for his injuries at the scene and then taken to Licking Memorial Hospital, according to Woodyard. The plane had no passengers.
