TRENTON, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – A plane crashed Tuesday near the Edgefield County Airport in Trenton.

Two people were on board, and they suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, according to Sheriff Jody Rowland.

Deputies and emergency medical crews were at the scene as of 1:25 p.m., according to the sheriff. But by 2:12 p.m., there were no signs of a crash or any rescue crews at the airport.

A nearby resident said she heard the boom and received an advisory at 1:30 that access to her subdivision was blocked from Girl Scout Road, which the airport is on.
