RENO, Nev. (KOLO)– The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office reports there was a small plane crash about 40 miles north of Reno in the Fish Springs area.

The sheriff’s office reports there was a pilot on the the Kitfox S7 Super Sport who survived the crash.with injuries. The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District described the rescue as an extended extrication.

The pilot has been extricated and transported by Care Flight to Reno for treatment. No one else was on the aircraft.

It happened between the north end of Pyramid Lake and the California state line at about 9:55 a.m.

Deputies, search and rescue volunteers, REMSA and the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District responded.
