HARRISON COUNTY, Texas (KETK) – The FAA is on the scene of a plane crash near Hallsville.
The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed one person was on the plane and is confirmed dead.
Harrison County Deputies and Texas DPS Troopers as well as other emergency personnel are responding to a confirmed small plane crash in Western Harrison County.
According to Harrison County Chief Deputy B.J. Fletcher, the general area of the crash is around FM 968, FM 450, Waldrons Ferry and Hut Horton Roads, but he says the wreckage is in the woods, far off of any roadway.
Deputies responded to the area earlier today after having reports of a loud boom, but didn’t find anything, the crash was then discovered in the woods later in the evening by hunters.
No information about anyone on board the plane is available at this time.
