UNION COUNTY, Ark. (KTVE) –  Authorities say a small plane crashed Friday afternoon in Union County.

Our content partner Myarklamiss.com reports that the Union County Sheriff’s Office (UCSO) says the plane crashed in Three Creek, Arkansas near Salem Road around 1 p.m. after it ran out of fuel.

Deputies say two men were on board the plane when it crashed. The men, who work for Blue Airlines out of Cleveland, Mississippi, walked away with cuts and bruises.

UCSO says the pair was contracted to fly out to a pipeline to check for leaks, and the plane ran out of fuel over Union County. The pilot tried to land in a clearing near a road but the plane overturned.

No word if federal investigators with the NTSB or FAA are on the scene.
