Emergency services were called this afternoon

A plane ended up on its roof after crashing at a Staffordshire airfield this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Tatenhill Airfield after the light aircraft crashed earlier today.

The pilot climbed out of the aircraft himself.

A Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said:  “The pilot of this light aircraft has had a lucky escape, when their plane crashed at Tatenhill Airfield this afternoon.

“Midlands Air Ambulance and West Midlands Ambulance Service  on scene quickly checking the pilot who had climbed out before our arrival.
