VALCOUR | A single-engine plane made a hard landing on Valcour Island Thursday, bringing emergency crews to the area for reports of a downed plane.
Nearby boaters made the emergency calls mid-Thursday afternoon after the yellow plane appeared to make a difficult landing on the island’s shoreline.
The U.S. Coast Guard rushed to the area to find the plane’s nose tipped into Lake Champlain and its occupants nearby.
No injuries were believed to be reported.
Valcour Island is a popular historic gathering spot just a short distance from the Peru Boat Launch off Route 9.
