An A321 hit the wing tip of another plane that was parked in a nearby slot at Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi Saturday evening.

The accident happened as the aircraft from Da Lat landed and was moving to park at around 6 p.m.

As the aircraft of Vietjet Air moved into its allotted parking slot, it hit the wing tip of an aircraft that was parked at the next slot.

Tran Hoai Phuong, director of the Northern Airport Authority, said all 120 passengers and seven crew members on board were safe.

However both aircraft have been grounded for technical inspection.

Phuong said that the captain accidently hit the other plane when trying to pull into its parking position. The port authority has recorded the event and seized the pilot’s license.

The flight crew were also temporarily suspended for the cause investigatio, as well as the review of operation process.

Dinh Viet Thang, head of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV), said that the department will set up an investigation team to determine the exact cause.

Earlier this month, a similar accident involving two Bamboo Airways aircraft happened at Noi Bai, causing the tail wing of one to be dented and a scratch on the other.

It was said then that the aircraft tug driver had made a mistake while pulling the aircraft to the runway. The driver was fined VND2 million (around $88).https://e.vnexpress.net/news/news/plane-wings-another-on-hanoi-airport-apron-4395550.html
