OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) – Authorities confirm that emergency crews were sent in response to a report of a plane crash at Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport on Thursday night.

The Owensboro Police Department says a single-engine plane had a landing gear malfunction.

According to the Daviess County Fire Department, the crash occurred on take-off at around 8:10 p.m.

Officials say three people were on board the plane when the crash happened.

Fire crews tell 14 News that one person suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. OPD officials say the other two occupants on the plane weren’t hurt.

Police say the fire department tended to injuries on scene, and there were no other complications with the plane.

Officials say an investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
