GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio (WCHS) — First responders are on scene where an aircraft made an emergency landing Monday in Gallia County, Ohio, sheriff Matt Champlin said.
The sheriff said a plane reportedly made an emergency landing at a farm near State Route 7 in Crown City. According to FlightAware, the plane had left Morgantown, W.Va., at about 1:05 p.m.
Jason Butler, who owns the property where the plane landed, said the pilot was the only person onboard.
Butler said this is the second time a pilot has made an emergency landing in the field. He said a couple of years ago another pilot landed on the property after his engine failed.
Ohio State Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
