A pilot in a small plane made an emergency landing on Midway Road Tuesday afternoon.

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office said the 33-year-old pilot was flying at about 3,000 feet when his plane’s single engine stalled.

He was able to maintain speed and safely land on Midway and Stark roads. There was no damage to property or the plane.

The plane had originally left the Superior Airport at about 1:45 p.m. He landed in Midway Township around 2:05 p.m. and was able to take off again from Midway Road shortly after.

The Minnesota State Patrol, Minnesota DNR and Border Patrol also responded.
