A small plane crashed Wednesday morning northwest of Emigrant Gap in Nevada County, but no injuries were reported, authorities said.

The single-engine Cessna 172 crashed around 8:30 a.m., said Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson Ian Gregor.

Two people were aboard the plane when it went down, but neither of them were hurt, according to Cal Fire, who responded to the crash.

“The FAA will release the tail number of the aircraft after investigators verify it at the accident site. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate. The NTSB will be in charge of the investigation and will provide additional updates,” Gregor said.
