OKEECHOBEE, Fla. (CBS12) — Two people were injured after a small plane crash landed near Okeechobee County Thursday morning, the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office said.
The plane went down just after 11 a.m.
The sheriff’s office said they received a 911 transfer call from the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office from a pilot who initially thought the plane landed in Okeechobee County between SR 78 and Highway 70 West. They also received notifications from FAA Miami and the U.S. Air Force Command.
After searching several areas, the plane was found in a cow pasture roughly 1,5000 feet off of SR 70 in Glades County.
The pilot and passenger survived the landing, but were airlifted to the hospital.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the incident.
