A small plane veered off a runway and flipped over while attempting to land Wednesday afternoon at Central Jersey Regional Airport in Somerset County, authorities said.

Two people were aboard the single-engine Cessna 172 when the incident occurred around noon, an FAA spokeswoman told NJ Advance Media.

It was unclear if the pilot or passenger were injured as the FAA does not release that information and local police were not immediately available for comment.

The crash was remained under investigation by the FAA Thursday evening.
