CAMBRIDGE, Ohio — The State Highway Patrol and the FAA are investigating a plane crash that took place at the Cambridge Municipal Airport on Wednesday night.

Troopers were called to the scene just before 10:30 p.m. The plane, piloted by 56-year-old Jeffery Lafave of Centerville, Ohio landed at the airport and skidded off the left side of the runway and went into a ditch. Fire and rescue also responded to the scene. The pilot suffered only minor injuries.

The FAA advised the Patrol to secure the plane, a Piper Comanche PA-24 250, into a hangar at the airport.  The Highway Patrol’s Aviation Center was notified as well.

An investigation into the crash is on-going.  Wet conditions due to rain at the airport may have been a factor in the accident.
