Today, at approximately 1617 hours, firefighters from Bradford County Fire Rescue and Melrose Fire Department were on standby at the Keystone Heights Airport for their 80th anniversary celebration.

While at the event, firefighters noticed a T-34 aircraft make a hard landing while attempting to land on the runway. Firefighters sprung into action immediately to mitigate the incident.

Additional resources were requested to respond. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported and no major damage or fire as a result of the crash.

The aircraft had reportedly approximately 25 gallons on fuel on board, however there were no leaks reported.

Firefighters were able to assist in moving the aircraft from the runway in a timely fashion.
