OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — Members of Tinker’s 552nd Air Control Wing held their weather flush exercise on Tuesday.

The exercise prepares them to evacuate airplanes in the event of a tornado.

“In a place where we have severe weather like Oklahoma, and it can come up at any time, we have to be ready to expedite our readiness. We do that all the time,” said Col. Kelley Stevens, the 552nd Maintenance Group Commander. “We don’t just fix and fly aircrafts when we are generating for an exercise. Our folks are ready to execute at a moment’s notice.”

Tinker says they do exercises like these all the time.
