In 1863 President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national day of thanksgiving to be held each year in November. In the United States, Thanksgiving is held on the fourth Thursday in November.

I wish all personnel in the Public Safety sector and specifically the Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting community a very happy, healthy and safe Thanksgiving holiday. I also give thanks and offer a prayer to keep safe all those in the military that are standing a post today to ensure the safety and security of all of us!
