Today in the United States we celebrate Thanksgiving Day, a holiday first celebrated in 1621 when the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag Indians shared a fall harvest. In 1863 President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national day of thanksgiving to be held each year in November. In the United States, Thanksgiving is held on the fourth Thursday in November.
While 2020 has been a rather tough year, this Thanksgiving Day please look at and remember the bounty of treasures that are a part of our lives. Spend a few moments before the Thanksgiving dinner to give thanks for the richness of our lives and for our wonderful family and friends.
I wish all personnel in the Public Safety sector and specifically the Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting community a very happy, healthy and safe Thanksgiving holiday. I also give thanks and offer a prayer to keep safe all those in the military that are standing a post today to ensure the safety and security of all of us!
Now here are the stories for today…
