“Foam 331” was one of two ARFF rigs that responded to the Pentagon attacks on 9-11, working with firefighters and rescue personnel from all over Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Now the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Working Group is raising $300,000 for the restoration and conservation of “Foam 331” with the intent of having this unit placed on display at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.
