Your stories for today…

Of note, on this day in history, 32 years ago, the crash of USAir Flight 1493, a Boeing 737-300 on top of SkyWest Flight 5569, a Swearingen SA227-AC Metro III at Los Angeles International Airport.
This accident resulted in 35 fatalities but there were also 66 survivors, of which the ARFF crews and members of the L.A Fire Department were a major part of.
It was the outstanding work of firefighters that saved the life of the First Officer, who was pinned in the wreckage of the flight deck. Firefighters held the fire from the flight deck while others worked to cut/pry/free him from the wreckage when he was rescued through the cockpit windows by some of the first fire fighters to arrive on the accident scene.
Be safe out there!
