Donate Now to Save a Firefighter
Before and during the COVID-19 pandemic, Firefighters across the world responded to our emergencies without fear or hesitation to save your life and property. Firefighters have been on the frontline supporting the fight to control and eliminate COVID-19. They respond every day to those in need and many times without the necessary personal protective equipment they need, risking their health and lives for someone “you” whom they have never met. When the alarm sounds, without hesitation, Firefighters continue to respond, for you. I am requesting for you to now respond financially to help Firefighters so they can attend the Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighting Working Group’s 31st Annual Educational Conference to be held at the Omni Championsgate Hotel in Championsgate, FL on August 23rd – 26th, 2020.
Aircraft Rescue Firefighters receive their training and travel funding from their Airport’s revenue. Due to COVID-19, airline traffic has decreased over 95% with billions of dollars of lost revenue. This lost revenue has dramatically cut the training and travel budgets for Aircraft Rescue Firefighters. Their airports have advised them that training and travel will be cut for the remainder of 2020 and possibly throughout 2021. These budget cuts will not allow Aircraft Rescue Firefighters to attend educational conferences, including our 31st Annual Conference.
We realize that COVID-19 is affecting everyone financially and many may not have the means to donate. If you are able to donate funds of any amount to help a firefighter attend our 31st Annual Conference, please do. Our goal is to sponsor 150 Firefighters. Each Firefighter will need $2,000 for airfare, hotel and registration. Every dollar that you are able to donate, may it be $5.00 or $2,000, will go to fund a Firefighter’s attendance. With your donation and/or sponsorship you will receive a tax-deductible donation letter.
If you’re able to donate $2,000 or more, you may select the Firefighter who attends the conference on behalf of your generous donation. For a period of 6 months from the date of your donation, you may use the ARFF Working Group’s logo in your advertising, stating how during these exceedingly difficult financial times you are giving back to those who risk their lives to save our lives. The attendee who you sponsor will have your name and/or your company’s name on their conference ID badge, stating you are their sponsor. You will also receive a group picture of all sponsored attendees for which you are free to use in your publications and/or advertising.
Due to the expense of hosting a conference, we will need a minimum of 150 attendees and 50 exhibitors. If we are unable to meet the attendance and exhibitor requirements, regretfully we will have to cancel the conference. If the conference is canceled, all funds donated will go to help fund firefighters to our next conference.
